PBT, also known as polybutylene terephthalate, is characterized by its ability to crystallize rapidly and flow readily. PBT fibers are used in the textile industry primarily for high level garment use. As a sheath material, PBT fibers provide excellent strength, durability, and resistance to the effects of UV, making it suitable for outdoor applications such as agricultural shielding and geotextile use. PBT compounds exhibit good tensile strength, dielectric properties, and chemical resistance. End uses include automotive body parts, electrical switches and relays, household appliances, and housings for power tools and consumer goods.
